From the estate of the late Mary L. Hill, Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Mary Lamberton Drake Hill was born in 1927 and grew up in Franklin, Pennsylvania. She attended the Madeira School in McLean, Virginia, and later Vassar. She met her future husband, Watts Hill, Jr., at the age of 16. Her family, animals, cooking, the arts, and environmental advocacy filled her life with verve and joy. She passed away in 2019, leaving an impressive legacy behind.
