Worked in multi color silk on loose ground, top register with alphanumeric rows above maker's name and date, "Mary Ann Hooker - Her Sampler - Aged 8 Years - 1801" and with pious verse, "Whats right and good now shew me lord and lead me by thy Grace and word," bottom register depicting trees, hearts, and various animal and bird motifs, framed under glass.

Fading to silk threads; toning to ground; small minor pull to blue silk border above pictorial register; possible area of stitched repair at lower right edge. Not examined out of the frame.
