19th century, to include: an unmarked silver or silverplate pinback brooch encasing an oval section of bone dated 1871 and showing an American three-masted whaler (1 x 2 in.); a small clothes brush decorated with an eagle and shield device (1 x 3 x 1 in.); a teaspoon (4.75 in.); a hairpin carved with a naval officer wearing a cocked hat (4.25 in.); a hairpin topped with a bird (3 in.); a sailor's fid used for working knots, being well-turned and topped with a bust, under which it reads, "G. Washington 1770" (4.75 in.).
