Kate Clayton Donaldson of Marble, North Carolina, was a pictorial textile folk artist, whose work is included in the American Folk Art Museum and pictured in Allen Eaton's work, Handicrafts of the Southern Highlands published by Dover Publications in 1937. These pieces are often referred to as "cow blankets."
