Lot 203
Seven Eighteenth Century Volumes of Shakespeare's Plays
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
From The Works of Shakespear in Eight Volumes. The Genuine Text (collated with all the former Editions, and then corrected and emended) is here settled: Being restored from the Blunders of the first Editors, and the Interpolations of the two Last: With A Comment and Notes, Critical and Explanatory.(London: F. and P. Knapton, &c., 1747), octavo (8 in.) full calf, with engraved frontis after G. Vertue.

The set lacks Volume 8; binding remains tight, appropriate age toning to text; the boards in fair condition with cracked hinges, small losses, darkening and much wear, presently serving only to protect the text.
