The dog depicted is "Champion Chappies Little Roustabout," owned by Mr. and Mrs. John D. Layton of Bronxville, New York.

Paul Terry was a cartoonist and founded the famous "Terrytoons." His best known characters included Gandy Goose, Mighty Mouse, and Heckle and Jeckle.
