Qing dynasty (1644-1911), 19th century, six vertical silk kesi panels, three on each side, decorated with male figures engaged in battle in a mountainous landscape with clouds above, each panel under glass and contained within a dark wooden frame with dragon carvings above and below the panels, topped with elaborate pairs of carved dragons facing a flaming pearl under swirling clouds, secured together with metal joints as a three panel screen that can be viewed from either side.
DOA 66 x 36 in.
Wooden frame of screen loose in sections with few lost wooden pegs for holding textile frame; some stress cracks to wood; some minor pulls to silk panels.
