The artist, Oliver, a Spaniard, was brought to Lumberton, NC to paint Virginia Minges' portrait. While living in Lumberton for the year, he painted portraits of others living in the city.

Good estate condition; small spot of grime at left; some light frame scuffs and gilt loss.
