Mid 20th century, well-developed with vasiform back splats, leather slip seats, on cabriole legs with turned stretcher base, labeled.

Preston “Pug” Moore was a lifelong resident of Rocky Mount. After graduating from the local high school, he went to work in his father’s business Moore’s Antique Shop and became a master craftsman of reproduction18th century style furniture. His works are in numerous historic sites in North Carolina including Tryon Palace, Historic Halifax, the Governor’s Mansion in Raleigh and Hope Plantation in New Bern.

Good condition with hairline crack to one chair at rear right leg at seat rail.
