Two English Items, Oval Pearlware Pedestal Sweetmeat Dish and Early Box

The dish circa 1840, basket-weave with a scalloped reticulated edge above a painted yellow band highlighted by a running swag with longitudinal black runs. Unmarked. The round paper box decorated with applied wallpaper,19th century, has been embellished with later gold foil to the interior and what appears to be Jasperware portrait medallion over silver foil to the cover, the whole upper surface protected by a plastic dome (2 x 3.5 in.) (box and paper covering good for age and use).

Crack and chip to reticulated basket edge, hairline crack through the portrait medallion.
