Born in Indiana, Harry Fluhart studied in Munich under Richard Ritter von Poschinger; and at Academie Delecluse in Paris. He was a respected teacher in his own right, holding positions at Earlham College and Knox College in Indiana, before moving to down to DeLand, Florida to teach at John B. Stetson University.
