English, the first of rosewood veneers, William IV, sarcophagus form with three interior compartments ring side handles, raised on suppressed bun feet (8.75 x 11.5 x 6 in.) (water spotting and fading at the back; a series of small cracks to the front of the lid; other minimal nicks; damage to rt. handle; rings likely later; scrapes to feet; the second has a black lacquer surface painted with water lilies, the interior has two lidded compartments, raised on suppressed bun feet (5 x 7.5 x 4 in.) (chips to cover corners; craquelure to paint; small scrapes to feet; interior of compartments has bee re-papered).
