19th century, English; the first a document box of mixed exotic hardwoods, with slanted hinged cover opening to reveal an open compartment, lower drawer with divided interior below (8.5 x 11 1/3 x 7 in.) (some minor loss to edges, several stable cracks to veneer); the second a parquetry inlaid jewelry box with dark and light wood inlay, cover opens to reveal a removable tray and inset mirror, the ends featuring inlaid clovers (4.25 x 6 1/8 x 4 5/8 in.) (locking mechanism broken, minor degradation to finish, some rubbing and wear to surfaces).
