Ralph was an active exhibiting artist in the Winston-Salem area. His tree collage works were inspired by his childhood observations of the pecan trees that grew outside his kitchen window. He worked in a variety of materials including acrylic, watercolor, pastel, pencil, and pen and ink, collaged rice paper, and other salvaged materials.
