Born in Lincolnton, North Carolina, Boyce Kendrick studied at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida after serving in the US Army during WWII. Kendrick moved back to North Carolina and taught art at Central Piedmont Community College and the Hickory Museum of Art.
