Self-taught, Giovanni has been painting since the early thirties, exhibiting his works depicting views of Rome, Venice, Paris, but above all to Milan, whose characteristic angles and in particular the picturesque views of the Navigli he returns with immediacy and pictorial vivacity in a naturalistic style derived from Impressionism.

Good estate condition with a minor horizontal scratch near the figure atop obelisk monument, not examined out of the frame.
