Ben Knight is a highly regarded contemporary artist working in North Carolina. A native of Chicago, he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago from 1998 until 2000. After moving to New York, he continued his studies at the Cooper-Union and under Larry Poons at The Art Students League of New York.

Knight and his wife, Vivian Howard, now live in Deep Run, North Carolina. Together, they are leaders of small town investment, which began with the opening of their James Beard nominated restaurant, Chef & the Farmer, in 2006.

Ben Knight continues to paint. His bold, gestural, layered and glossy paintings are a joy for the eye. In 2020, Ben Knight was one of twenty-five artists selected for inclusion in Front Burner: Highlights in Contemporary North Carolina Painting at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
