Donald Bryan was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in Tucson, Arizona. In 1942, he began an Air Force career and recorded his travels on canvas. After the military, Bryan and his wife established their home in Nags Head where he served as a Town Commissioner and Mayor from the mid-seventies to the early nineties. Bryan was primarily a self-taught artist until a tour of duty in Germany. There, he spent his free time under the instruction of Herr Ernst Krupp. Bryan’s paintings took on new life and dimension.
