Circa 1870 (note the two armchairs create an assembled set and were custom built in the 1930s), the eight side chairs feature a shield back form, with molded paneled frame, pierced and carved splat with central tulip, over upholstered seat rail with brass tack trim, front molded and paneled square tapered legs with spade foot, rear downswept legs.

Side chair 37.5 x 21 x 21 in. Seat height 18.5 in.

The two armchairs were custom made to match the set in the 1930s; later needlepoint upholstered seats; three chairs with break and repair at stile to crest joint and break at lower splat; one armchair with repair at arm and arm support.
