The first, early 19th century, being leather covered wood with allover geometric brass boss decoration, the interior lined with brown felt; integral lock with key (4.75 x 12.25 x 7.5 in.) (crazing to leather; some looseness; lock not functional); the second, circa 1900, dovetailed maple construction with brass handle, hook and eyelet (9.25 x 14 x 9.25 in.) (wear and dings; obsolete keyhole; crack on the lid); the third, early 1900s, black-painted metal with brass handle (3.5 x 10.5 x 7 in.) (some spotting to surfaces; interior with glue and cedar chip residue).
