To include: document discharging Cramer Burt at Washington City, May 4, 1861 from "Major Clay's Battalion...in defense of the National Capital, at a time of great peril, when threatened by hoards of traitors...," signed in print by Abraham Lincoln and others (16 x 10in.); discharge for Private Reuben R. Richards, 12th Independent Battery Regiment, New York, at Albany, June 14, 1865, Richards having been captured at Petersburg, Virginia the previous year; The Union Hymn Book (New York: Evangelical Alliance, 1861), inscribed by a George S. Scott with New York soldier cdv, possibly postwar and unidentified; Connecticut State Seal patriotic postal cover mailed from New Orleans, August 12, 1862.

The discharge exhibit deep browning; overall good condition.
