Joachim Probst's work representational work often expresses the artists own relationship with Western religion. He was using modern language of Gestural Abstraction and Expressionism to paint this subject matter in a time when religious themes were less popular in the fine art world of Warhol and Pollock.

Good estate condition, with minor surface accretions to lower left corner.
