French Second Empire NCO Sword

3rd quarter 19th century, the 32 in. double-fuller straight blade with S in shield on one side of the ricasso and crown-over-B on the other; the guard, grip, and pommel of cast brass, the guard depicting the Imperial French eagle with four eagle standards in the background, the grip with a winding oak leaf pattern; leather scabbard with brass throat and tip.

The sword very clean with a few minimal spots on blade; the scabbard with crazing to the old leather and a fragile horizontal near split in the center.
