20th century, varnished wood with painted detail, mounted and framed, the painted border reading "Monarch of the Seas ...223' x 43' x 29' . 1971 Tons / Built at NYC by Roosevelt & Joyce, 1854. Sold at N.Y. due to Civil War insurance rates, to a Liverpool owner in 1863. Left Liverpool Mar. 19, 1866 and was never heard of again," with apertures for hanging.

The Monarch of the Seas was carrying immigrants to the United States when she sank off of Liverpool. Newspaper accounts claim 738 people were lost in the disaster.
