NC Pottery, Salt Glazed Stoneware Rundlet

Early 20th century, probably Randolph County, barrel form, the salt spotted surface is decorated with central sine waves between bands of incised lines, it features the unusual attribute of applied appendages to house a carrying strap, above the spout. The neck and strap holders were thrown on the wheel and applied separately. A fine example of the craftsmanship exhibited in utilitarian vessels.

A few surface lines and edge nicks; hairlines around the applications; good condition for age and use.
