Zurab Tsereteli works in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, and enamels. In addition to his own work Tesereteli has been a important advocate for the arts in Russia throughout his career. In 1995 he established the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and he has served as president of the Russian Academy of Art since 1997. His monumental public sculptures have been installed in such prominent venues as the Villa Borghese in Rome, near the Notre-Dame de Paris, and on the grounds of the United Nations in New York.
