Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Attributed to Virginia, late 18th century, yellow pine secondary, each chair with shaped arms and applied shaped crestrail, two pierced vasiform backsplats with stylized heart flanked by ring turned and tapered column arm supports, slip seat, flush seat rail, straight square legs with molded exterior corner edge, on stretcher base.

Each chair has lost height, due to likely cut at bottom of feet; yellow pine likely original seat frame with later upholstery; slip seat supported by original yellow pine seat rail; current surface very light and with alligatoring at arms; mortise and tenon joints possibly reset and now with what appears likely later circular plug at each leg by joint.
