Bud worked as a bridge builder for the Milwaukee Railroad to earn money for further study and then went to art schools in St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota. This instruction was interrupted by several years in the military during World War II followed by living in Chicago, where he attended the American Academy of Art. He studied there with Bill Mosby and worked as a commercial illustrator. He is best known for his Western themed paintings and sculptures, and was honored by election to the Cowboy Artists of America in 1972.

Good estate condition, some light verdigris to rope.
