Early 19th century, two part form, pine secondary, removable pediment in varying light and dark veneers, upper case with two hinged glazed doors with Chinese style fretwork, louvered shelf interior, the lower case with a hinged slant front lid featuring penwork inlay of a classically dressed woman with lute, interior with leather writing surface, figured veneer drawers and pigeon holes, over four graduated banded drawers with figured mahogany veneers, the sides with repeating banded inlays, raised on shaped bracket feet.
