Ten French and Italian Plates, 19th Century

Including an assembled set of eight mid-19th century French Rebus plates - a set of (4) black transferware plates with impressed mark for P&H Choisy (8 in. diameter); a pair of black transferware plates with indistinct impressed mark (8.5 in. diameter); and a pair of black transferware plates with bright yellow rims, each with impressed mark of P&H Choisy (8.5 in. diameter). Included with the lot are two early 19th century majolica plates, attributed to Ginori but unmarked, acquired by the consignor from Giampaolo Fioretto in Florence (9 7/8 in. diameter).

The French plates include several with minor knife marks and crazing, appropriate wear to edges with minute flakes; the Italian plates both with olds glaze frits to rims.
