Thomas Sidney Moran painted landscapes as well as some figurative works in a style that was in keeping with other members of his artistic family. He was a son of the Philadelphia painter and photographer John Moran (1831-1902). He was also nephew of both Thomas Moran (1837-1926), a painter famous for landscapes of the American West, and Edward Moran (1829-1901), one of the country's most respected marine painters.

Some scattered tears with associated patches and overpainting; some patches are peeling; all over stable craquelure.
