Born in Montclair, New Jersey, Autorino joined the Air Force in his late teens. While working in Paris as a cryptographer at the United States Embassy, he became determined to find a career as a painter. By 1968, he was settled in New Hope, Pennsylvania and made his dream come. Primarily self-taught, Autorino exhibited at the National Academy of Design in New York, the Salmagundi Club, the Allied Artists, the American Watercolor Society and the Philadelphia Sketch Club.
