From the Collection of the late Dobie D. Hogan, Norfolk, Virginia

A Victorian age pair of three-quarter length portraits of a young man and woman, likely husband and wife. Each sitter is depicted in an upholstered chair, with one arm resting on a table. The woman wears a lace cap with floral decoration in her hair, while a book and vase of flowers rests by her arm. The man is well-dressed in a black suit with white shirt and vest, with a forest green linen draping the table to his right.

Each with warp to board (more pronounced on male sitter); some minor scattered paint flaking and minor edge wear to each board. Both frames are in fragile condition with looseness and loss to composition.
