Late 20th century, two part form, with signature to drawer by Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, brother of the late Princess Diana: "To Kim Raymond / Charles Spencer," high grade flame mahogany and Morado veneers, broken arched pediment with carved and gilt foliate flanked by brass urn finials, two hinged glazed beveled doors with divided interior fitted with fifty-five drawers and two candle slides, the lower cabinet with two side-hinged cabinet doors opening to reveal a divided interior fitted with drawers, pigeon holes, central prospect doors with further drawers, pull-out leather writing slide with hand painted heraldic medallion, the cabinet door versos with embossed leather and page/book supports, the lower portion of the case with two hinged cabinet doors with shelved interior flanked by turned columns with ormolu mounts above two hidden drawers, flanked by four shaped drawers over a central bottom drawer, shaped bracket feet with ormolu trim, labeled.

Theodore Alexander and Charles, 9th Earl Spencer collaborated together for 14 years to create The Althorp Living History Collection. The collection contains reproductions from the Althorp Estate, the Spencer family’s ancestral home of 19 generations of British nobility. In the Fall of 2018, Lord Spencer unveiled many of these pieces for a charity event in Highpoint, NC:

“The Althorp Living History Collection captures the extraordinary ancestry of 500 years of Spencer family tradition...Each piece brings to life generations of memories and embodies centuries of Britain’s most treasured craftsmanship.”

Overall good condition; surface scratch (through the finish) to the lower left side of the bottom case; smaller scratch to the lower right side of the case; finish wear to corners of waist board.
