Born in New Jersey, Florence W. Pomeroy studied in New York with George Bellows and Anne Goldthwaite, among others. She exhibited at the National Academy of Design in the 1940s, the Society of Independent Artists from 1917-1924 and the National Academy of Women Artists annually. In 1947, New York's Bonestell Gallery mounted a solo exhibition of her paintings.
