Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Mid-Atlantic, circa 1800, mahogany veneers, white pine secondary, each table featuring a serpentine front, hinged top lid with gate-leg support, center rectangular entwined inlaid panel flanked by repeating rectangular panels with ovolo corners, upper front stiles with inlaid oval with herringbone border, inlaid checkerboard skirt raised on tall square tapered legs with line inlay and inlaid cuff.

29.5 x 36.5 x 17.5 in.

From the Estate of the late Gloria Callen Jones, Hot Springs, Virginia

Stamped I. Darragh to inside rear rail to each table. A noted Darragh family immigrated from Ireland to Washington County, Pennsylvania in 1774.

Light wear and scraping to the tops of both tables; one table with twelve-inch mar to underside lid, the same table with top lid in solid cherry and is lacking vertical mahogany crossbanding to edge - possibly indicating that the top lid is later; tight shrinkage splits to the front skirt veneer panels; top reset.
