Attributed to Eastern Tennessee, second quarter of the 19th century, mahogany veneers, poplar secondary, double paneled mirror backsplash surmounted by a relief carved basket with acorn, floral and fruit motifs, scalloped side returns, two recessed small glove drawers, the rectangular case with three side-by-side convex drawers flanked by relief carved acanthus leaf stiles, four hinged convex paneled cabinet doors set within four fully turned acanthus carved columns, paneled sides, bold ring turned legs with ball foot.

Acquired through family descent of Robert Carter, the Samuel Perry (Powhatan) Carter House, Elizabethton, Tennessee.

Mirror plates with silver loss; some glass knobs detached (but present); one broken knob; shrinkage splits to veneer especially at base and drawers; good "as found" estate condition.
