Rina Sutzkever (Russian/Israeli, b. 1945), Fly Away
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Oil on canvas, signed at lower left, presented in a gilt frame with linen liner.

Frame dimensions 56 x 46 in.

Born in Moscow, Rina Sutzkever's family immigrated to Israel in 1948. Her father, Abraham Sutzkever, was a well-known poet and personal friend of Marc Chagal. Rina began her art studies with Nahum Gilboa and continued with Moshe Rozenthalis. While her earlier works are more realistic, Sutzkever's recent works blend "fantasy, imagination and the lustre of reflection," resulting in dream like imagery.

Minor abrasion near center of canvas; minor rubbing to frame.
