German, possibly Black Forest region, the first with all over relief carving with foliate vines and spread wing eagle back panel, cane serpentine seat, pierce carved skirt on cabriole legs with paw feet (36.25 x 19 x 18 in.; Seat height 14.75 in.); the second with a pierce carved and inlaid back panel with penwork featuring goats on a rocky cliff, the serpentine seat with repeating inlay and penwork featuring a stag, hinged seat with storage compartment, relief carved skirt and cabriole legs on hoof feet (36.5 x 18 x 16 in.; Seat height 17.5 in.).
