Grouping of Re-Purposed 18th Century Leatherbound Books
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Being small octavos, mostly in French, and re-configured to deceive the beholder; the largest piece in this collection consists of seventeen (17) gilt spines glued side-by-side to a board so as to create a panel behind which something may be hidden (8 x 20 1/2 in.); next are two sneaky concealment boxes, each disguised with four pasted-on book spines facing outward; and, finally three bookends made from real books.

The Caroline Faison Antiques Collection, Greensboro, North Carolina

As made, with genuine worn leather spines.
