Dutch Delft Petit Feu Tile Panel of Rooster

Early 18th century, a six tile composition of a Rooster standing with leg raised, petit feu firing technique likely used for rose, orange, and yellow hues, balanced by green, manganese, and cobalt hue glazes on a tin-glazed ground, presented in a later wood frame.

Frame dimensions 20 1/4 x 15 1/8 in.

The first recorded use of "petit feu" techniques were recorded in the early 18th century, allowing Delft craftsman the ability to achieve more pastel colors similar to the Japanese Kakiemon palette with this lower temperature firing.

Good condition, with some expected crazing and glaze defects; not examined out of the frame.
