19th century, watercolor on ivory, both presented behind glass in brass frames, the smaller of a gentleman in black coat with white neck tie with faint signature to lower right (frame dimensions 4 3/4 x 4 in.) (some spotting and area of paint loss at far right, loose glass); the larger of a gentlemen with fur lined viridian velvet cloak draped over left shoulder, a red curtain behind (frame dimensions 8 x 6 in.) (one hairline to top right corner of ivory, paper backing glued to recto of painting).
