Born in Harvey, Illinois, Fred Samuelson became a painter and art instructor. In 1955, he began teaching drawing and painting at the Institute Allende in San Miquel Allende, Mexico, where he also served as Chair and Director of Graduate Studies.

Fred earned his BFA (1951) and MFA (1953) from the Art Institute of Chicago. Exhibition venues include museums in Denver, Dallas, Acapulco, Kalamazoo, and Oklahoma City. He also completed a mural for the 1968 Hemisfair in San Antonio.

Good estate condition, some wear to frame.
