From the Collection of the late Dr. Joseph C. Greenfield, Jr., Durham, North Carolina

A certain Peter Peloux is sporadically associated with flintlock firearms manufacture in Philadelphia during the early 19th century; however, it is unknown if he had anything to do with these pistols. Perhaps by mid-century a younger family member became a distributor of fine percussion firearms, whether domestic or imported.

One pistol stock has a filled hairline extending from the rear ramrod pipe and three other hairlines extending downward from the left side of the barrel; both barrels with a small gap at left side of breech; both with working action; smooth natural patina on barrels; the case lacks its key and lid pull, while the interior felt is good for its age but has points of wear. A fine brace of pistols.
