Born in Fife, Robert Fowler studied at the Heatherley School of Fine Art and Royal College of Art in London. He maintained studios first in Liverpool and later in London, which became centers of artistic camaraderie. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Walker Gallery in the UK and also at several venues in Germany and France. He is particularly known for his depictions of beautiful woman in mythological settings and Orientalist fantasies.
