Late 19th century, the first a wooden chest, painted blue, with carved wood curvilinear elements and beaded designs in red (10 x 16 1/4 x 8 in.) (scratches and shrinkage cracks, rubbing to paint) loss to some beaded and curvilinear elements, missing latch and possible upper tray to interior); the second a rectangular keepsake box, carved graduated pyramidal sides, painted red, opens to a papered interior with hand painted floral basket to upper lid (7 1/2 x 11 1/4 x 8 1/2 in.) (crack to upper lid near back, scattered rubbing to paint and wear to edges, some paper peel).
