Hand-painted with dragons and phoenix birds, a pierced bowl and a square dish, both accented in gold, underglaze crossed swords.

Square dish 1 3/8 x 7 1/2 in.

The original Meissen design originated in a Chinese motif. The long dragon was representative of the Emperor and the Phoenix bird, also a symbol of benevolence and wisdom, represented the Empress.

Small chip to once corner of square dish, else good condition.
