Mid 19th century, shaped pierced crest rail with molded scrolled ears, intricate pierced and woven back splat set within a molded shoe, relief carved molded stiles with bellflower and acanthus leaf, molded arm supports with scrolled knuckle, over upholstered needlepoint seat, cabriole legs with acanthus carved knee, ball and claw front feet, down-swept rear legs.

Excellent, possibly original surface and warm brown patina.

Overall denting and wear especially at legs consistent with age; lacking upholstery edge trim with glue residue; one front ankle with tight hairline, the same chair with loose arm joints at stile.
