Centering on a prong set pear modified brilliant cut paraiba tourmaline (11.40 x 7.10 x 5.56mm) weighing approximately 2.36 carats, the scrolled gallery and shoulders with bead set full cut round diamonds weighing approximately .38 total carat (G-H color, VS clarity), stamped for platinum and signed A. Jaffe, top of shank with maker's mark and inset diamond melee. With GIA Report #2211640657 stating Geographic Origin as Mozambique and that "this copper and manganese bearing tourmaline may be called "paraiba tourmaline" in the trade. The name "paraiba" comes from the Brazilian locality where this gem was first mined; however, today it may come from several localities."
