English Chippendale Mahogany Secretary Bookcase

Late 18th century, three-part form, oak and pine secondary, a fluted frieze with dentil molding surmounted by a broken arch pediment with central plinth and urn finial carved floral terminus, two hinged cabinet doors with astragal mullions, louvered shelf interior, the base with hinged lipped slant lid with loper support, interior with six large valanced pigeon holes each with a lower small drawer, three upper small side-by-side drawers divided by lopers above three graduated long drawers all with scratch bead and full dust boards, raised on tall shaped bracket feet.

102 (98 in. without finial) x 41.5 x 24.5 in.

Nice large size for this form retaining an old warm patina surface and original bracket foot base.

Good estate condition; later finial and plinth shelf; some dark staining to interior writing surface; no key; later pulls (but in original holes); old and likely original feet.
